The Northwood University campus will be closed from December 23rd until January 2nd for the holidays.

Jeannette C. McIntyre had a lifelong dedication to business and the arts and a commitment to education based on the concepts of free enterprise. Mrs. McIntyre was prominent in both the business and the arts communities of the Coachella Valley and owned one of the most prestigious galleries of fine art and sculpture in Palm Springs for eight years. Originally from the Midwest, Jeannette lived in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio. Before moving to Palm Springs in 1983 she was president of the Leeco Corp., a manufacturing business headquartered in Madison, Ohio which specialized in chemical protective coatings for use in foundries. She served on the board of directors of Bank One, Painesville, Ohio for many years and on the advisory board to the president of Lake Erie College where she was a group leader in the college’s LAB – Learning About Business program. In Palm Springs Jeannette enjoyed a busy community activity life and was a member of the President’s Circle of the Desert Museum, Desert Hospital’s Tiempo de los Ninos and the Palm Springs Youth Center. Jeannette C. McIntyre was chairwoman for three years of the Palm Springs chapter of Northwood’s National Women’s Board and of the chapter’s FAD Auction event for two years. Her very effective focus was on students and a scholarship in her memory continues to benefit Northwood students into the future. (Deceased 1994)
