Nancy B. Loeffler

January 1, 2006

2006 – San Antonio, Texas

Community service comes naturally to Nancy Loeffler. “An individual builds worth by the things they do for others,” was often heard in her childhood home. Growing up with a legacy of volunteerism, Nancy remembers the dining room table as usually being full of mailings, and her parents hosting a houseful of people, all united by a charitable cause. Healthcare and cancer research, the arts and politics all benefit from Nancy’s significant efforts. She serves on the boards of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Southwest Airlines, the South Texas Community Foundation, the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and the Vice President’s Residence Foundation in Washington, D.C. She is part of the Capitol Advisory Committee for Texas Lutheran University , on the Board of Regents for St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and Co-chairman of the University of Texas Jack S. Blanton Museum of Fine Art. Nancy is a member of the Chancellor’s Council of the University of Texas System, and has served on the Board of Governors of the Cancer Therapy Research Center. Previously Ms. Loeffler has served in such capacities as the President of the Junior League of San Angelo, Trustee of the Vosburg and Mary Lou Hall Foundation, Trustee of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Art, member of the Board of Directors of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and the West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind. Governor William P. Clements appointed her to serve as Vice Chair of the Governor’s Educational Excellence Commission. Nancy and her husband, former Congressman Tom Loeffler, divide their time between their home in San Antonio, ranching interests in Fredericksburg and Mason, Texas and professional activities associated with Tom’s law firm whose offices are located in San Antonio, Austin and Washington, D.C.
