Kay Dalby graduated from Holmby College for Young Ladies, Holmby Hills, California before working as a high fashion photographer’s model for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Town and Country in Beverly Hills. She was under contract to 20th Century Fox Studios as a motion picture actress, was publicity advertiser and public relations director of Conrad Hilton’s Town House Hotel, was West Coast Editor for Goodman Publications, New York City, published eight motion picture and two television magazines, was technical director of the Ann Sheridan television series (which was based on Mrs. Dalby’s life), was social columnist for the Los Angeles Examiner and the Los Angeles Daily Mirror and had her own television and radio shows. Mrs. Dalby was a director of the National Boys Clubs of America, a founder of the Lubbock Symphony Guild, patron of the Los Angeles Museum of Fine Arts, board member of the Dallas Symphony, board member of the Civic Opera of the Palm Beaches, patron member of the Advancement for Operatic Careers for Youth and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She served as the third National Chair of the Northwood University National Women’s Board, 1976-1978. She was listed in the Los Angeles Blue Book, Southwest Blue Book, California Social Register, World Who’s Who in Industry and Commerce, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Builder of the Southwest. She and her husband, trucking magnate Arno Dalby, were early and enthusiastic Northwood University supporters. The Dalby Commons on the Florida campus is named in their honor. (Deceased 1978)
