Cecil Blaffer Furstenberg’s early interest in the arts led to involvement with galleries of great distinction and is reflected in the magnificent works which she has collected and evolved into one of the major private art collections. A Houston, Texas native, Dr. Furstenberg spends a major portion of her time furthering the work of her mother’s foundation, the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Foundation, which organizes important art exhibitions to travel the state of Texas and elsewhere for the public’s enjoyment. She was instrumental in mounting major exhibitions for Northwood University in Houston and Dallas as well. Cecil (Titi) Furstenberg is a member of Northwood’s National Women’s Board. She is also a founding member of its National Art Collection Committee, a group of lay experts and art professionals who supervised the selection and cataloging of paintings and art objects which have become a permanent Northwood Collection. The Collection is an extension of Northwood’s arts and business integration commitment. A citizen of the world, noted hostess and generous supporter of students, education and international causes, Titi Furstenberg received an honorary degree from Northwood University in 1992. She was married to the late Tassilo von Furstenberg and she has two sons. (Deceased 2006)
