Countess Maria Teresa Ceschi a Santa Croce’s artistic interests and humanitarian endeavors have contributed greatly to international understanding. She has received acclaim for her English translation of the biography of Andrea Palladio. Considered the most authoritative book on the architect, her translated version is highly regarded by scholars and architects. Her lectures in English to students at Nottingham University in Italy have benefited their understanding of the English language and western world. A person interested in humanity, she worked very closely with the American armed forces stationed in Vicenza, was executive of the Italian Red Cross and has contributed her many talents to civic and cultural endeavors throughout the world. Her interests in the arts, theater and in children are apparent in her activities as an organizer and writer of children’s plays. She has also played numerous leading roles in the theater at Vicenza. Countess Ceschi is enthused about Northwood because of the educational exchange programs which make is possible for many Italian university students to complete their training in business management, advertising, finance and the arts while, at the same time, gaining a deeper knowledge of the American way of life and work.
