Founder, Money Matters For Youth
Gail Perry-Mason started from a foster care system in Detroit, Michigan and worked her way to become a respected authority in the financial industry, a best-selling author, and community activist. She educates capacity crowds on financial literacy and conducts workshops for companies such as Ford, General Motors, CBS News, Wells Fargo, and many more.
Along with her several national speaking engagements, Gail has been featured on TEDX, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and more. Gail’s wisdom hit the airwaves as she co-hosted an award-winning talk show entitled “Building Wealth” on iHeartRadio affiliate WMXD. In 2014, she was a featured financial speaker at the Essence Women’s Festival and keynote speaker for Harvard University Black History Month.
Gail is a prolific, published writer and has written articles for local and national print media, including Black Enterprise, On Wall Street, The Detroit News, and Washington Post. While juggling her financial career and public appearances, Gail was able to write and publish her first book, Money Matters for Families. Shortly after, she published Girl, Make Your Money Grow, which became a national best seller and was featured on Oprah’s Debt Diet.
Ms. Perry-Mason has numerous community efforts under her belt. Most notably, Gail spearheaded the first Virtual Money Camp for Money Matters for Youth on a global level. As the founder of the Money Matters for Youth Camp, Gail has taught core values of financial literacy to thousands of young people from Detroit, Denver, and Jamaica. Her program has received national recognition and an invitation from Warren Buffet to be the first youth group to attend the Berkshire-Hathaway Shareholder Meeting.
Gail has received numerous awards from companies like Ford Motor Company, Bank of America, and the Michigan Women’s Foundation. She was named Phenomenal Business Women of the Year for her non-profit efforts and later awarded Community Ambassador by the current Governor of Michigan. She is a Microsoft Legacy Project Honoree, as well as the recipient of the Invest In Others (IiO) Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2022, she won the “2022 Governor’s Service Award as a Lifetime Humanitarian.”
