The University Experience

It has been said that "one goes to college, not to learn a vocation, but to learn to live a life." Northwood University urges students to seize the many opportunities offered and start building a happy and rewarding life the first day on campus. The Northwood Experience offers students exciting leadership opportunities, and opportunities to share and grow with people from around the world.

Groups and Organizations

Several active groups and organizations are available to join. If an interest group does not exist, visit the Student Services office to launch a new group. Group affiliations are very diverse. Affiliations include professional, social involvement, service and development, artistic expression, intramural and athletic competition.

Athletics

Northwood of Texas offers men’s sports in baseball, cross country, soccer, track and golf.  Women’s sports include softball, cross country, soccer, track and golf.  The Texas campus is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Southwest region and competes as an independent. The Knights compete with other NAIA schools in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Competition includes potential advancement to national playoffs.  The Texas campus intramural programs include volleyball, basketball, flag football, floor hockey, soccer and dodgeball.  Men, women and co-ed programs are available.

The Area

The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex offers a multitude of cultural, artistic, and historical attractions. Only minutes from campus, the Metroplex expands the Northwood educational experience. The city of Cedar Hill continues to expand and provides numerous recreation, entertainment and shopping opportunities.
