

Lambert E. Althaver
Cass City, MI
After 44 years of service, Lambert Althaver retired as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Walbro Corporation in 1998. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Principia College in Elsah, Illinois. Following two years in the military, he joined Walbro Corporation as an accountant and rose rapidly through the ranks. He served on Walbro Corporation’s board of directors from 1968 until his retirement.
He has always been active in his community and was Cass City Village President for many years, on the Executive Board, Boy Scouts of America-Lake Huron Area Council, and recipient of the Distinguished Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver Awards. He has been a board member and officer of the Cass City Arts Council, Village Bach Festival, Artrain USA, Rotary Club, Michigan Municipal League Foundation, Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Tuscola Area Airport Authority, and Tuscola County Economic Development Corporation.
He is currently Immediate Past Chairman, Artrain USA; American Business Conference board member, Washington, DC; board member and Treasurer of Hills & Dales General Hospital, Cass City. He received the Cass City Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award and is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. He received the Northwood University Outstanding Business Leader Award and is Chairman of the OBL Association Executive Committee. He has been honored by Northwood University with a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa.
